LinkedIn recently asked Australian recruitment agencies what their most important performance metric was*. Can you guess the outcome?
– 16% said Quality of placement
– 43% said Number of placements
Ouch.
I’ve worked in the recruitment industry, I’ve met both the 16% and the 43% type of agents, and I think that that 43% is actually higher in real life.
Today I’m convinced that as a manager/owner you are the one that needs to be equipped to make good recruitment decisions – whether you use an agency or not. You’re the one who lives with the impact of a recruitment decision.
